The Michiel Coignet Observatorium is located at Zirkstraat 36 in the heart of Antwerp, Belgium, atop a building formerly used as a city normal school. This historic 100-year-old observatory, renovated by Volkssterrenwacht Urania, sits in the vibrant Zirkus neighborhood near the 16th-century home of astronomer Michiel Coignet. Nearby landmarks include the cultural venue Zaal Zirkus in the same building, the bustling Groenplaats square and Cathedral of Our Lady a short walk south, and the central shopping street Meir to the north.
