Park Cytadela is Poznań’s largest and most atmospheric green space, a vast park shaped by layers of history and contemporary leisure. Created on the grounds of a former Prussian fortress, it blends open lawns, wooded paths and quiet corners with monuments, museums and artistic installations that reflect the city’s complex past. Visitors can explore the remains of the old fortifications, stroll through rose gardens, or visit the Museum of Armaments and the Museum of the Poznań Army. The park is also home to the moving Cemetery of Commonwealth Soldiers and several memorials that give the landscape a contemplative character. Despite its historical weight, Cytadela is a lively place for walks, cycling, picnics and cultural events, offering a unique mix of nature, memory and everyday relaxation in the heart of Poznań.

Park Cytadela is located at Aleja Armii Poznań in the Stare Miasto district of Poznań, Poland, on the former site of Fort Winiary north of the city center, covering 100 hectares of green space. Just 1 km from the Old Market Square and Ostrów Tumski, nearby attractions include the Museum of Armament, Poznań Army Museum, Palm House greenhouse, war cemeteries, monuments like the Bell of Peace and the Unrecognized sculptures by Magdalena Abakanowicz, an amphitheater, flower gardens, and walking paths connecting to the Imperial Castle area.
