About

The New Zoo in Poznań is a vast, modern zoological park set amid rolling hills, forests and lakes on the city’s eastern edge. Known for its spacious, naturalistic enclosures, it offers animals room to roam and visitors the chance to experience wildlife in a setting that feels close to nature. Opened in the 1970s, the zoo has grown into one of Poland’s largest, home to species from every continent, including elephants, big cats, rare birds and endangered mammals. A narrow‑gauge railway helps guests explore the extensive grounds, while viewing platforms and quiet walking paths reveal the landscape’s beauty. The zoo places strong emphasis on conservation and education, making each visit both enjoyable and meaningful. Location

The New Zoo in Poznań (Nowe Zoo) is located at ul. Krańcowa 81, in the Winiary district on the eastern side of Lake Malta, in the eastern part of the city. The zoo lies just off the lake and is easily reached by tram line 8 and the Maltanka park railway, placing it within the larger Malta recreational hub. Nearby you will find Lake Malta with its beaches, marina and sports facilities, the Malta Ski and sports centre, the Path in the Treetops and the Pyrland rope park, as well as forts of the Poznań Fortress system, all within a short walk or bike ride from the zoo entrance.
