Poznań Town Hall is the architectural jewel of the Old Market Square, a Renaissance masterpiece that has become one of the city’s most recognisable symbols. Originally a medieval structure, it was transformed in the sixteenth century by the Italian architect Giovanni Battista di Quadro, who gave it its elegant loggias, ornate façade and distinctive tower. Inside, the historic Great Hall reflects the building’s former role as the seat of municipal power, while the exterior draws visitors daily to witness the famous mechanical goats that emerge at noon to butt heads above the clock. The Town Hall now houses the Museum of the History of Poznań, offering insight into the city’s development and civic traditions. Standing at the heart of the bustling square, it remains a vibrant emblem of Poznań’s heritage and artistic splendour.

Poznań Town Hall is located at Stary Rynek 25, in the center of the Old Market Square (Stary Rynek) within Poznań's historic Stare Miasto district. Surrounding the Renaissance landmark are the famous mechanical goats on the clock tower, Proserpina and Apollo Fountains, colorful merchant tenement houses, Bamberka Monument, Poznań Croissant Museum, Museum of Musical Instruments, Greater Poland Military Museum, and Archaeological Museum, all amid vibrant cafés, shops, and streets like Wrocławska leading to the Royal Castle.
