Botanical Garden of Brussels
About

Once a centre of scientific botany, the Botanical Garden of Brussels has evolved into a serene urban park and cultural venue in the heart of the city. Established in 1826 and originally home to Belgium’s national plant collection, the garden was relocated to Meise in the 20th century, leaving behind a beautifully landscaped space now known for its artistic and recreational appeal. The site features French-, Italian-, and English-style terraces, a rose garden, and sculptures scattered among tree-lined paths. At its core stands Le Botanique, a striking glass-and-iron orangery that now serves as a vibrant cultural centre hosting concerts, exhibitions, and festivals. Located near the Brussels-North station, the garden offers a peaceful retreat amid the city’s bustle while continuing to foster creativity and community. With its blend of horticultural heritage and contemporary culture, the Botanical Garden of Brussels remains a cherished green space where nature and the arts flourish side by side.
