The Cathedral of Saint Titus is one of Heraklion’s most elegant landmarks, a church that reflects the island’s layered history. Its current form, restored after the 1856 earthquake, blends neoclassical harmony with subtle Venetian echoes, creating a serene presence in the heart of the city. The most important relic is the skull of Saint Titus, the island’s patron saint, kept in a beautifully crafted silver reliquary. The Cathedral of Saint Titus sits right in the heart of Heraklion, Crete, on one of the city's most famous pedestrian avenues. You can find this magnificent historic church located at Agiou Titou 16, Iraklio 712 02, set within a charming paved plaza known as Agios Titos Square. Originally built during the Byzantine era and rebuilt across Venetian and Ottoman times, the church stands as one of the most significant architectural and religious landmarks in the city.
