Galerie Bernhard Bischoff & Partner has been a vital force in Bern’s contemporary art scene since its founding in 2001. Originally based in Thun, the gallery moved to Bern in 2005, eventually settling in the PROGR Centre for Cultural Production, where it thrived for over a decade. Known for its dynamic exhibitions and support of international and Swiss artists, the gallery showcased a wide range of media—from painting and sculpture to video art and installations. In 2025, the gallery transitioned into Galerie Kornfeld at Laupenstrasse 41, continuing its legacy within a larger, modern space. This move marks a new chapter, preserving its commitment to artistic excellence and cultural dialogue.

Galerie Bernhard Bischoff & Partner is now located at Laupenstrasse 41, 3008 Bern, within the historic Kornfeld Gallery, having moved here in 2025 after many years at Waisenhausplatz and earlier at Speichergasse. The new location places the gallery in a central, vibrant area near Bern’s main railway station, providing easy access on foot or by public transport. The Kornfeld Gallery itself is a well-established institution over 160 years old, offering spacious, contemporary exhibition rooms that continue to host a dynamic mix of contemporary art, including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, video, and photography. Nearby, you’ll find cultural and historical highlights such as the Kunstmuseum Bern, Bern’s famed Old Town—recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site—the Federal Palace, and a variety of other museums and galleries. The bustling surroundings include cafés, boutiques, restaurants, and are marked by Bern’s typical blend of grand architecture and green spaces.
