About

Founded in 1994, Cambridge Artworks is an artist‑run co‑operative housed in a converted cabinet‑maker’s workshop on Green’s Road, just north of the city centre. Home to 18 studios, it provides affordable, collaborative space for a diverse community of painters, sculptors, ceramicists, printmakers, photographers, and performance artists. At its heart is Cambridge Artspace, a small gallery available for exhibitions, workshops, and courses, offering a platform for both resident and visiting creatives. The site also features a distinctive bright blue caravan studio, used for summer residencies that bring fresh perspectives into the mix. Regular open studios, exhibitions, and community events encourage dialogue between artists and the public, making contemporary art accessible and engaging. With its blend of working studios, public gallery, and residency programme, Cambridge Artworks & Artspace is a vibrant hub where ideas are shared, skills are honed, and Cambridge’s cultural life is enriched year‑round.

Cambridge Artworks & Artspace is located at 5 Green's Road, Cambridge CB4 3EF, tucked away in a quieter part of the city that offers a creative and intimate atmosphere. The venue is set within a former cabinet-maker’s workshop converted into an artist-run cooperative comprising studios and a small gallery space. It is accessible from the city centre by heading north through Parker’s Piece, then taking Chesterton Road and Green's Road to reach the site within about a 20-minute walk.
