Founded in 1985, the Künstlerhaus emerged as a response to the need for artistic collaboration across the Greater Region, encompassing Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg, and Rhineland-Palatinate. Housed in a historic building on Karlstraße since 1992, it serves as both a working space and exhibition venue for artists, writers, and cultural associations. The house hosts up to 18 exhibitions annually, alongside readings, concerts, and discussions that reflect current social and artistic discourse. Its in-house publishing arm produces catalogues and literary works, further enriching the regional cultural landscape. With studios, workshops, and a guest apartment, the Künstlerhaus fosters creative production and cross-border dialogue, making it a cornerstone of Saarland’s contemporary arts scene.

The Künstlerhaus serves as a vibrant meeting place and exhibition space for Saarland artists, writers, and musicians, hosting around 18 exhibitions, readings, and cultural events annually.
