Theater im Viertel (TiV) in Saarbrücken is a vibrant venue for experimental and interdisciplinary performing arts, located at Landwehrplatz in the city’s cultural quarter. This intimate black box theater champions the independent scene, offering a stage for contemporary drama, dance, concerts, readings, and hybrid formats that blur genre boundaries. Since the 2022/23 season, TiV has curated its own thematic program, each year focusing on a socially relevant topic. Alongside professional productions, the theater opens its doors in summer under the motto “Bühne frei!” to regional amateur groups, fostering grassroots creativity. Its proximity to the Alte Feuerwache and integration into Saarbrücken’s cultural infrastructure make it a key space for artistic experimentation and civic dialogue.
