The Jardin Botanique de Bordeaux, a historic 0.5-hectare municipal botanical garden dating to 1858, is located within the Jardin Public at Place Bardineau in central Bordeaux, near the elegant Chartrons/Saint-Seurin district. It features over 3,000 plant species, including those native to Aquitaine and exotics from Asia and North America, complemented by the larger modern Jardin Botanique de la Bastide across the Garonne River in the Bastide area along Allée Jean Giono. Nearby attractions include the Natural History Museum, cafés along Rue Notre-Dame, antique shops, and easy tram access from the Jardin Public stop, with the riverfront and Place des Quinconces just a short walk away.​
