Teatro dell’Affratellamento is one of Florence’s most historic community theatres, rooted in the Ricorboli district and shaped by a long tradition of mutual aid culture. Founded in 1876 as the Società Ricreativa L’Affratellamento, it became an early nucleus of the city’s workers’ movement and later evolved into a broader social and cultural association. The theatre hall, inaugurated in 1898Feel Florence, has been repeatedly renewed through the 20th century, surviving major challenges including the 1966 flood, after which it reopened with strong support from the Municipality of Florence. Today, the venue hosts theatre, music, cinema, talks and community events, maintaining its mission of solidarity‑driven culture.
