This 11th-century Nasrid archway, once the city's main gate from Medina Elvira, anchors the lively Jardines del Triunfo gardens opposite, amid buzzing bus stops and the Column of the Immaculate Conception. Nearby, Calle Elvira teems with tapas bars and shops leading to Plaza Nueva and the Alhambra ascent, while the Albaicín's whitewashed alleys branch off toward San Nicolás viewpoint and Granada Cathedral lies a short stroll west.
