Château de Walzin

About

The Château de Walzin is one of the most picturesque landmarks in the Dinant region, dramatically perched on a limestone cliff above the winding Lesse River. Its striking silhouette, blending medieval origins with later romantic restorations, has made it a favourite subject for painters, hikers, and photographers. Although the castle is privately owned and not open to the public, its exterior can be admired from several scenic viewpoints, especially along the popular walking paths and kayak routes that follow the river. The setting is serene and majestic, with the castle rising above lush forests and rocky outcrops, creating an atmosphere that feels both timeless and enchanting. Whether viewed from the riverbank or from the surrounding hills, the Château de Walzin remains an unforgettable sight and a highlight of any visit to the Dinant countryside.
