Moderna Museet is located at Exercisplan 4 on the island of Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, surrounded by water and green spaces. The museum is renowned for its impressive collection of modern and contemporary art, featuring works by Picasso, Dalí, Warhol, and Matisse, and is housed in a building designed by Rafael Moneo. It’s about a ten-minute walk from Kungsträdgården and twenty minutes from T-Centralen or Gamla Stan, with the Nationalmuseum and the Grand Hotel nearby along the way. On Skeppsholmen itself, you’ll also find the Swedish Museum of Architecture (ArkDes), and the island offers beautiful views over Stockholm’s waterfront. The Djurgården ferry stops at Skeppsholmen, providing quick access to Djurgården’s attractions like the Vasa Museum, Skansen, and ABBA The Museum.
