Kungliga Slottet, or the Royal Palace, is located at Slottsbacken 1 in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Old Town, and serves as the official residence of the Swedish monarch. This grand Baroque palace dominates the north end of Gamla Stan and features over 600 rooms on 11 levels, including the Royal Apartments, Hall of State, Treasury, Tre Kronor Museum, and the Royal Armoury. The palace is open year-round, though certain areas may close for state functions. Nearby, you’ll find some of Stockholm’s most important historical and cultural sites.
