The Guitar Museum in Piešťany is a vibrant and unexpected gem, celebrating the evolution of the guitar through an impressive private collection. Founded by a passionate local collector, it showcases instruments from different eras, styles, and countries, offering a rare look at how craftsmanship and musical culture shaped the modern guitar. An interesting fact is that several pieces in the collection were once owned by well‑known Central European musicians, giving the museum a personal, almost intimate atmosphere. Inside, visitors can admire historic acoustic guitars with ornate inlays, early electric models from the mid‑20th century, and unique experimental designs that never made it into mass production. The exhibition also includes amplifiers, pedals, and accessories that trace the rise of rock and jazz in Slovakia and beyond. One of the highlights is the hands‑on section, where selected replicas allow guests to feel the difference between various guitar types. Archival photographs and stories about musicians connected to Piešťany add a local cultural layer.

The museum is an interactive retro exhibition of musical curiosities with a captivating guide's presentation, where visitors can try out exhibits and enjoy an irresistible retro design café. Located on Beethovenova Street, the Guitar Museum is very close to the main Balneological Museum Imrich Winter, which is dedicated to the history of spa treatment in Slovakia and specializes in balneology since 1966. The museum building is in the same building complex area as Balneological Museum and near the Town Park. Just a short walk away is the famous Spa Island (Kúpeľný ostrov), Piešťany's unique resort island in Europe and the largest health resort in Slovakia, which features art sculptures, historic spa buildings, and the beautiful Colonnade Bridge (Kolonádový most) with the famous statue of a man breaking his crutch – the symbol of Piešťany. The oldest spa building, Napoleon's Bath from the 19th century, is also on the island.
