The Vasile Pogor Museum is located on Vasile Pogor Street in the Copou area of Iași, in northeastern Romania. It is housed in a 19th-century boyar mansion built in Neoclassical style around 1850. The house belonged to Vasile Pogor, a writer, politician, and co-founder of the Junimea literary society. The museum sits in Copou, Iași’s most historic and greenest district. Right across is Copou Park, the oldest public garden in Romania, famous for Eminescu’s Linden Tree where the poet found inspiration. A short walk away is the University Library, known for its grand reading hall, and the Central University Library. The district also hosts the “Mihai Eminescu” Central University and the Botanical Garden, one of the largest in the country with themed greenhouses and outdoor collections.
