Exhibition Park is one of Iași’s most spacious and versatile green areas, created in the early 20th century to host fairs, cultural gatherings, and public celebrations. Its name reflects this original purpose: for decades, it was the city’s main venue for industrial and agricultural exhibitions, attracting visitors from across Moldavia. Today, the park blends history with recreation, offering wide lawns, old trees, and long alleys ideal for quiet walks. One interesting feature is the central pavilion, a remnant of the park’s exhibition era, now used for cultural events and community activities. Nearby, visitors find sports areas, playgrounds, and shaded corners that make the park popular with families. The rose garden, arranged in geometric beds, adds a touch of elegance during summer months. Inside the park, several monuments recall Iași’s civic history, including statues dedicated to local personalities and commemorative plaques marking past exhibitions. The park’s generous scale also makes it a favorite spot for festivals, open‑air concerts, and seasonal fairs, continuing its tradition as a gathering place.

Exhibition Park, or Parcul Expoziției, is located in the Copou district on Bulevardul Carol I in northern Iași. Opened in 1923 to host industrial and agricultural fairs, it’s one of the city’s quieter green spaces. The park features wide alleys, old trees, flowerbeds, and a small lake. At its center stands the Exhibition Hall, a pavilion once used for trade shows and now a venue for cultural events and fairs. It’s a popular spot for walks, jogging, and relaxing away from the busy city center. The park is right next to the Botanical Garden of Iași, the largest in Romania. You can explore its rose gardens, greenhouses with tropical plants, and seasonal flower exhibitions just steps away. Across the boulevard is Copou Park, the city’s oldest public garden, home to Eminescu’s Linden Tree and the Obelisk of Lions. Also nearby are the Central University Library “Mihai Eminescu” and the main building of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, with the University Museum inside. The Memorial House of Mihai Eminescu and Titu Maiorescu House are within walking distance. The area is filled with student cafés, bookshops, and tree-lined avenues. From Exhibition Park, a tram ride down Copou Hill takes you to the Palace of Culture, Metropolitan Cathedral, and Iași’s historic center, making it a peaceful base for exploring the city’s cultural sites.
