Mladezhki Park

Mladezhki Park is one of Ruse’s most beloved green spaces, a lively blend of nature, recreation and quiet corners that has evolved since its creation in the mid‑20th century. Locals often call it the city’s “green lung,” thanks to its wide lawns, mature trees and the refreshing breeze that drifts in from the Danube. The park is especially known for its long alleys shaded by chestnuts and lindens, making it a favourite route for runners and evening walkers. One of the park’s most interesting features is the open‑air theatre, a venue that has hosted concerts, children’s shows and summer festivals for decades. Nearby, you’ll find a small lake that once served as a rowing spot for youth clubs; today it’s a peaceful place to sit and watch the reflections of the surrounding trees. The park also contains several sculptures from the 1970s and 1980s—abstract, slightly whimsical pieces that add a touch of artistic curiosity to the landscape. Inside the park, visitors can explore themed gardens, playgrounds and sports zones, including tennis courts and a popular skate area. In spring, the flowerbeds near the central alley burst with colour, creating one of the most photogenic spots in Ruse.
