Orthodox Cathedral of Gjirokastër

The Orthodox Cathedral of Gjirokastër is one of the city’s most graceful modern landmarks, built in the early 1990s as Albania emerged from decades of religious suppression. Its architecture blends traditional Byzantine forms with clean contemporary lines, creating a bright, welcoming space that contrasts with the heavy stone buildings of the old town.
