Located on Syngrou Avenue in the Neos Kosmos district, Onassis Stegi is a dynamic cultural center that champions contemporary art and thought. Opened in 2010 and funded by the Onassis Foundation, the venue occupies a striking marble-clad building designed by Architecture-Studio. Inside, it houses two performance halls, exhibition spaces, and the acclaimed Hytra rooftop restaurant with views of the Acropolis. Stegi hosts a wide range of events—from theater, dance, and music to digital art and public debates—often tackling themes like identity, technology, and social justice. It supports emerging and established artists through residencies, co-productions, and international collaborations, making it a hub for avant-garde creativity in Greece. Onassis Stegi is situated at 107-109 Syngrou Avenue in the Neos Kosmos district, just south of central Athens and easily accessible by public transport, including the Syngrou-Fix metro station. Housed in a striking modern building, it serves as a vibrant cultural venue for contemporary art, theatre, dance, music, film, and digital installations, with two main performance halls and a rooftop restaurant offering city views. The surrounding neighborhood is lively and diverse, with major attractions nearby. The National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST), located within walking distance on Syngrou Avenue, is one of Greece's leading venues for modern art.
