Founded in 2009 by Annamária Molnár, Ani Molnár Gallery is one of Budapest’s most internationally active contemporary art spaces. Located in the Palace District, it showcases a diverse range of media including installation, photography, painting, and conceptual art. The gallery’s program is built around curatorial concepts that explore cultural, social, and political themes, often featuring simultaneous solo or group exhibitions. Ani Molnár Gallery represents both established and emerging artists from Hungary and the broader Eastern European region, many of whom have exhibited at major international events such as the Venice Biennale and Manifesta. Works from the gallery’s artists are held in prestigious collections including MoMA and the Pompidou Centre. In 2013, Ani Molnár became the first Eastern European gallerist to receive the F.E.A.G.A. Innovation and Creativity Award. The gallery also operates a second space, am projects, dedicated to showcasing young female artists.
