Tampere Orthodox Church, dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky and Saint Nicholas, is one of the city’s most distinctive architectural landmarks. Completed in 1899 and designed by Russian military architect T. U. Yazukov, it reflects the Russian Revival style with its onion‑shaped domes, ornate detailing, and richly coloured façades. The church was built during the period when Finland was an autonomous Grand Duchy under Russian rule, and its design embodies that historical influence.
