PEEK&POKE Computer Museum in Rijeka is one of Croatia’s most charming niche museums, a playful tribute to the early days of computing. Inside, visitors can see iconic machines such as the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amiga models, early Apple computers, and even oddities like mechanical calculators and educational robots. Many exhibits are interactive, allowing you to try old games, type on retro keyboards, or explore software that shaped the first generation of home computing. The museum also highlights Yugoslav‑era electronics, offering a unique regional perspective on technological development. Location

PEEK and POKE Computer Museum is located at Ivana Grohovca Street 2A, in the very center of Rijeka, just a few steps from the main pedestrian promenade. Founded in 2007 as the first museum of computer history in Croatia, it is one of the largest permanent exhibitions of vintage computing in this part of Europe. Spread over about three hundred square meters, it holds more than fifteen hundred exhibits, from early calculators and home computers to game consoles and arcade machines. It is an interactive museum where visitors are encouraged to touch, try and play. Thanks to its central position, the museum is surrounded by many of Rijeka’s main attractions. Right next to it is the entrance to the Rijeka Tunnel, the historic Second World War tunnel that runs under the Old Town hill and is now open to visitors. A short walk away are the City Clock Tower, the Church of the Assumption, and the bustling Korzo with its cafes and shops. Also nearby are St. Vitus Cathedral, the baroque symbol of the city, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral in the former Governor’s Palace, the City Museum of Rijeka – The Cube, and the Natural History Museum. The waterfront, the market and the Croatian National Theatre Ivan Zajc are all within a few minutes on foot.
