The Church of Santa Maria in Punta stands in the southwestern corner of Budva’s Old Town, right against the sea walls on a small rocky point. One of the oldest churches in the area, it dates back to the ninth century and was once part of a Benedictine monastic complex. Just a short walk away you’ll find the Citadel at the southern tip of the walled town, where the ramparts offer wide views over the harbour and the open sea. Nearby stand the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Holy Trinity Church, both on the main square a few lanes inland. The Budva City Museum is also close, housed in a historic stone building that explores the town’s long past.
