Quinta das Cruzes Museum is located in the historic hills just northwest of Funchal city centre, at Calçada do Pico 1, overlooking the bay of Funchal. It sits in a traditional Madeiran manor house surrounded by landscaped gardens, a short walk uphill from the Sé Cathedral and the downtown area. Very close by are the Frederico de Freitas Museum, the Santa Clara Convent and the Universo de Memórias João Carlos Abreu, creating a small cultural quarter filled with museums, historic sites and viewpoints over the city and harbour.
