The Madeira Botanical Garden (Jardim Botânico da Madeira) is located at Quinta do Bom Sucesso on Caminho do Pico dos Barbosa in Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, approximately 3 km northeast of the city center at around 300 meters elevation. This 8-hectare hillside garden offers panoramic views over Funchal bay and features diverse collections of exotic plants, cacti, palms, orchids, and native Madeiran flora across terraced landscapes. Its lower cable car station connects directly to Monte above, near Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte church and Jardim Monte Palace tropical gardens. Downhill within 2-3 km lie Caravel Art Center, Quinta da Boa Vista orchid garden, Zona Histórica old town streets, Mercado dos Lavradores market, Sé Cathedral, Varadouros Old Gate, Chafariz da Praça do Município fountain, Jardim Municipal gardens, and Funchal Marina, accessible by bus or the Funchal-Monte cable car.
