The Coal Pier (Cais do Carvão), a historic 1903 wharf once used for coaling steamships, is located along Funchal's seafront promenade in the Lido area of western Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, between the Lido bathing complex and Clube Naval do Funchal. Renovated in recent years, it now features preserved machinery, information panels, and serves as a cultural spot and fishing platform overlooking the Atlantic. Nearby are the popular Lido Solário bathing area with pools and sunbathing platforms, Ponta Gorda Viewpoint, Jardim Público da Ajuda gardens, and the CR7 Cristiano Ronaldo Museum within 500 meters. Further along the promenade lie Santa Catarina Park, Viewpoint of Nazareth, Funchal Marina, and central attractions like Mercado dos Lavradores market and Zona Velha historic district.
