Accessible via the upper station of the Funchal-Monte cable car at Caminho das Babosas or Caminho do Monte, this 7-hectare hilltop estate overlooks Funchal bay with terraced gardens featuring exotic plants, oriental pavilions, koi ponds, and a central palace building. Directly adjacent is Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte church and the famous Monte wicker toboggan slide starting point.
