Jardim Monte Palace Madeira (Monte Palace Tropical Garden) is located in the Monte parish above Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, approximately 3-5 km from the city center at altitudes between 475-567 meters. Accessible via the upper station of the Funchal-Monte cable car at Caminho das Babosas or Caminho do Monte, this 7-hectare hilltop estate overlooks Funchal bay with terraced gardens featuring exotic plants, oriental pavilions, koi ponds, and a central palace building. Directly adjacent is Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte church and the famous Monte wicker toboggan slide starting point. Within 500 meters lie Parque Municipal do Monte gardens, Colégio do Monte school, and Quinta da Boa Vista orchid garden. Short distances connect to central Funchal landmarks including Zona Histórica streets, Mercado dos Lavradores market, Sé Cathedral, Varadouros Old Gate, Chafariz da Praça do Município, Jardim Municipal gardens, and Funchal Marina via cable car or bus routes.
