Polderpark Cronesteyn is the largest and most diverse green space in Leiden, a 90‑hectare landscape park shaped by centuries of polder history. Polderpark Cronesteyn Leiden is located at Polderpad 8, 2322 LB Leiden, in the southeastern Roodenburgerdistrict neighbourhood of the city, Netherlands, bordered by the A4 highway, Leiden-Alphen railway, Rijn-Schiekanaal canal, and Vrouwenvaart waterway. This expansive 90-120 hectare park, established in 1982 on the site of the historic Kleine Cronesteinse or Knotterpolder and named after the vanished Cronesteyn Castle whose moat survives in the Landgoedbos area, offers vast meadows, marshes, a water playground, visitor centre, teahouse, and rich biodiversity including black-tailed godwits and orchids. Nearby are the Haagkwartier residential area, bus stops like Kooilaan on line 4 from Leiden Centraal Station (about 20-30 minutes away), bike paths connecting to the city centre, and adjacent green spaces such as Park De Bult, Roomburgerpark, and Park Matilo for extended nature walks.
