Espoo Central Park is one of the city’s largest and most cherished green areas, stretching across a vast landscape of forests, meadows, rocky outcrops and wetlands that offer a peaceful escape in the heart of urban Espoo. Covering around 880 hectares, the park provides an extensive network of outdoor trails for walking, jogging, cycling and cross‑country skiing, making it a year‑round destination for recreation and nature lovers. Its diverse habitats support rich wildlife, while seasonal highlights such as mushroom and berry picking draw residents into the woods each autumn. The Tikankierros nature trail leads visitors to glacial potholes, the Mössenkärr nature reserve and open meadows, revealing the park’s geological and ecological variety. With multiple entry points connecting surrounding neighbourhoods, Espoo Central Park serves as an important green corridor linking the coast to the Nuuksio lake district, offering both tranquillity and adventure just steps from everyday life.

Espoo Central Park is located in the middle of built‑up Espoo, stretching roughly from Vanttila and Suurpelto in the north to Espoon keskus and Latokaski, with its main area designated as Espoon keskuspuisto, 02750 Espoo, and bounded by roads such as Finnoontie that split the park into east and west halves. The 880‑hectare forested area sits close to residential districts including Suvela, Olari, Henttaa, Matinkylä, and Espoo town centre, making it easily reachable on foot, by bike, or by bus from these neighbourhoods. Nearby, visitors can also connect to other natural and cultural sites such as Nuuksio National Park, Laajalahti Nature Reserve, and the Espoo Waterfront Walkway, as well as conveniently reach Tapiola and the WeeGee‑EMMA cultural cluster within a short metro or bus ride.
