Mariakirken is located just behind Bryggen in central Bergen, at Dreggsallmenningen 15, 5003 Bergen, Norway. It stands in one of the city’s most historic areas and is easy to reach on foot from the harbour and the old wharf district. Nearby, the church is surrounded by some of Bergen’s most important attractions, making it a strong stop for visitors exploring the historic centre. Bryggen, the UNESCO-listed Hanseatic wharf, is right next door and is one of the city’s most photographed landmarks, with its row of colourful wooden buildings and deep trading history. The Hanseatic Museum and Schøtstuene are also close by, adding more insight into Bergen’s merchant past.
