Nykirken is located on Nordnes in Bergen, on the west side of Vågen and close to Strandgaten, in a central but quieter part of the city. Nearby, it is well placed for exploring Bergen’s harbourfront and old neighbourhoods. The church stands close to the waterfront on the western side of Vågen, so Bryggen, the UNESCO-listed Hanseatic wharf, is an easy addition to the same sightseeing route, along with the Fish Market and Bergen Harbour. The Nordnes area itself is also a pleasant place to walk, with narrow streets, historic buildings, and a local atmosphere that contrasts with the busier city centre. Bergen Aquarium is another nearby attraction, making this part of town a good choice for combining culture, maritime history, and family-friendly sightseeing in one visit.
