Tiller Church

About

Tiller Church is a modern landmark in Trondheim’s southern districts, reflecting the city’s shift toward contemporary architecture and growing suburban communities. Completed in 2001, it was designed to serve as both a parish church and a flexible cultural venue, with clean lines, pale materials and a calm, spacious interior that emphasises light and openness. The building’s asymmetrical roof and minimalist façade give it a distinctive silhouette, contrasting with the older churches of the region while still maintaining a sense of warmth and welcome. Inside, adaptable spaces support worship, concerts and community gatherings, making the church an active hub for the surrounding neighbourhoods. Set within an open landscape, Tiller Church embodies a modern approach to sacred architecture, combining functionality, clarity and a strong connection to everyday life in Trondheim’s expanding southern area.
