Aleksandër Moisiu Theatre

Aleksandër Moisiu Theatre is one of Durrës’ most beloved cultural landmarks, named after the famed Albanian‑Austrian actor celebrated across early 20th‑century European stages. Built in 1953, the theatre reflects the architectural optimism of its era: a broad façade, elegant symmetry, and a welcoming entrance that has greeted generations of performers and audiences. Despite its modest size, it has long been a powerhouse of Albanian drama, hosting premieres, festivals, and touring ensembles. Inside, visitors find a warm, intimate auditorium with excellent acoustics and a classic horseshoe layout that keeps the audience close to the stage.
