MO Museum in Vilnius is a contemporary art institution that showcases modern Lithuanian creativity within an architecturally striking space. Opened in 2018, the museum was founded by philanthropists Danguolė and Viktoras Butkus and designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind in collaboration with Do Architects. Its bold white façade and spiral interior staircase make it a landmark in its own right. The museum houses a collection of over 6,000 works spanning from the 1950s to the present, reflecting Lithuania’s cultural evolution through painting, sculpture, photography, and multimedia. Exhibitions change regularly and are complemented by film screenings, concerts, and educational programmes for all ages. MO Museum also publishes art books and engages in outreach to promote visual literacy. Located on Pylimo Street, it offers a dynamic cultural experience in the heart of Vilnius. MO Museum is located at Pylimo g. 17, in the heart of Vilnius, just steps from the boundary between the Old Town and the modern New Town. Designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the museum’s striking contemporary building stands on the site of the former Lietuva Cinema and serves as a symbolic gateway between Vilnius’s historic and modern districts. MO Museum houses a collection of over 5,000 modern and contemporary Lithuanian artworks from the 1950s to the present, and regularly hosts exhibitions, film screenings, concerts, workshops, and educational events for all ages.
