About

The Vilnius TV Tower is the tallest structure in Lithuania, rising 326.5 meters above the Karoliniškės district and serving as a landmark of both engineering and national memory. Completed in 1980, the tower combines telecommunications infrastructure with public attractions, including a rotating observation deck and the bistro-bar “Paukščių takas” located 165 meters above ground. From here, visitors enjoy panoramic views of Vilnius and its surroundings, with visibility extending up to 40 kilometers on clear days. The tower played a pivotal role in Lithuania’s fight for independence during the events of January 13, 1991, when Soviet forces attempted to seize it, resulting in the deaths of 14 civilians. A memorial and museum on the ground floor commemorate this historic moment. Today, the Vilnius TV Tower is not only a functional broadcast center but also a symbol of resilience, offering educational programs, seasonal decorations, and sky-high experiences that connect past and present in one of the city’s most iconic sites.

The Vilnius TV Tower, located at Sausio 13-osios gatvė 10 in the Karoliniškės district of Vilnius, is the tallest structure in Lithuania, standing at 326.5 meters. It serves as a significant telecommunications landmark and a popular tourist attraction, offering stunning panoramic views of the city from its observation deck and the bistro-bar "TOLIAI" on the 67th floor. The tower also features an open-air terrace and a business and leisure space called "Debesys" on the 68th floor. Nearby, visitors can explore the peaceful surroundings of Vingis Park, and the tower is within reach of Vilnius Old Town and its many historical landmarks, including Gediminas Castle Tower and Vilnius Cathedral. The site also houses the "Fight for Freedom" exhibition, commemorating the events of January 13, 1991, adding a meaningful historical context to the experience.
