The John Lennon Peace Monument, officially titled Peace & Harmony, stands on Liverpool’s waterfront beside the M&S Bank Arena as a vibrant tribute to the city’s most famous son and his enduring message of peace. Unveiled on 9 October 2010—on what would have been Lennon’s 70th birthday—by his first wife Cynthia and son Julian, the 18‑foot sculpture was created by American artist Lauren Voiers for the Global Peace Initiative. Inspired by her original painting, the hand‑painted metal artwork bursts with colour, musical motifs, doves, and a globe, crowned by a white glass feather—a personal symbol of peace linked to Lennon’s family. Originally sited in Chavasse Park, it now offers a gathering place for reflection and celebration of Lennon’s legacy. Both a work of art and a beacon of hope, the monument invites visitors from around the world to share in the spirit of harmony that Lennon championed through his life and music.
