Düsternbrooker Gehölz is a mixed forest area located in the upscale Düsternbrook district of Kiel, lying close to the shore of the Kiel Fjord. This forested green space is adjacent to the Kiellinie promenade and lies near several prominent cultural and natural landmarks including the Kunsthalle zu Kiel art museum, the Alter Botanischer Garten with its historic and diverse tree species, and the Krusenkoppel park featuring scenic views of the fjord.
