Fort Saint-André is a 14th-century medieval fortress perched atop Mont Andaon, a rocky spur rising 50 meters above the Rhône River floodplain in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, Gard department, southern France, directly across the river from Avignon. Built to enclose the preexisting Benedictine Abbey of Saint-André and assert French royal power opposite the papal city, it offers panoramic views over the Rhône Valley, Provence landscapes, and Avignon's Palais des Papes. Nearby lie the Chartreuse du Val de Bénédiction monastery at the mountain's base, the village of Saint-André ruins within the fort, Rhône riverbanks with footpaths, and easy access to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon’s historic center, shops, and bridges linking to Avignon.​
