Also bordering the same monumental square are the Camposanto Monumentale cemetery, the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo and the Museo delle Sinopie, creating a concentrated ensemble of religious and artistic landmarks around the tower. The square lies just north of Pisa’s historic centre and is a short walk from the River Arno, with the wider city offering additional nearby sights such as Piazza dei Cavalieri and historic palaces along the riverfront.
