The Puerta del Sol (Sun Gate) is a medieval city gate in Toledo, Spain, located on Calle Carretas near the western edge of the historic old town, just outside the main stretch of the city walls above the Tagus River gorge. It stands on a steep hillside next to the church of Santiago del Arrabal, close to the well‑known Mosque of Christ of the Light (Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz) and near the Puerta de Bisagra Nueva and Puerta de Alfonso VI gates. The area around the gate is part of Toledo’s UNESCO World Heritage old town, surrounded by narrow streets with historic houses, shops, and views over the Tagus River. Nearby, visitors can easily reach the popular El Greco Museum, the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, and the Cathedral of Toledo by walking through the old quarter.
