Fort Sint Pieter is located at Luikerweg 71-80 on the southern edge of Maastricht atop St. Pietersberg hill, offering sweeping panoramic views over the city and River Meuse. Built in 1702 as a pentagonal fortress to defend the city's southern ramparts, it features robust walls, underground tunnels, and cannon galleries linked to nearby marl caves. Nearby, explore the North Caves and Maastricht Underground trail network, scenic nature walks along colour-coded paths, Chalet Bergrust restaurant and parking area, Château Neercanne estate just across the way, and easy access via bus or a 2km walk from the city centre to the historic Vrijthof square and Basilica of Saint Servatius.
