Giusti Garden
Giusti Garden is one of Verona’s most elegant Renaissance landscapes, a refined retreat created behind the 16th‑century Giusti Palace. Once the site of the family’s wool‑dyeing workshops, the land was transformed into a formal garden of terraces, cypress avenues, fountains, and grottoes, designed in the late 1500s in the purest Italian style. Its layout rises gently up the hillside, offering a sequence of green rooms that lead to a belvedere with one of the finest views of Verona. The garden became a celebrated stop on the Grand Tour, admired by artists, poets, and nobles for its harmony and perspective. Despite damage during the Second World War, careful restoration has preserved its Renaissance character. Today, Giusti Garden remains a serene blend of nature, art, and history, a timeless sanctuary just beyond the city centre.

Giusti Garden is located at Via Giardino Giusti 2, on the east bank of the Adige River in Verona’s historic center, near Piazza Isolo. Accessible via a 15-minute walk from Piazza delle Erbe across Ponte Nuovo or Ponte Pietra, this Renaissance garden adjoins Palazzo Giusti and climbs terraced hills toward a panoramic belvedere. Nearby sites include Chiesa di Santa Maria in Organo and San Giovanni in Valle churches within 500 meters, the Roman Theatre and Archaeological Museum up the hill, Castel San Pietro’s viewpoint, and easy riverside paths linking back to Ponte Pietra and the Arena di Verona.
