Although much of the city’s defensive network was dismantled in the nineteenth century to make way for urban expansion, this bastion preserves the characteristic structure and strategic placement that defined the era’s military architecture. Today, surrounded by greenery and pedestrian paths, it blends seamlessly into the modern landscape while still carrying the weight of history. Bastion Ceglarski is located at ul. Jana Ewangelisty Purkyniego, 52-443 Wrocław, Poland, on Wzgórze Polskie (Polish Hill) in the northeastern part of the Old Town. This Renaissance-era fortification remnant from 1585 sits along the historic city walls near the Oder River boulevards, offering elevated views just a short walk from the city center. Immediate neighbors include the Panorama Racławicka with its massive 360-degree battle painting and the National Museum showcasing Polish art. Stroll along the scenic Bulwar Xawerego Dunikowskiego to Juliusz Słowacki Park, Nicolas Copernicus Park, and Bastion Sakwowy.
