The Japanese Garden in Wrocław is one of the city’s most enchanting and carefully crafted green spaces, offering a serene escape within Szczytnicki Park. Originally created for the 1913 Centennial Exhibition, it was later redesigned with the help of Japanese landscape architects to ensure authenticity in both layout and symbolism. The garden blends water, stone, and meticulously selected plants to create a harmonious environment that changes beautifully with the seasons. Wooden bridges, lanterns, and gently flowing streams guide visitors through scenes inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, while koi ponds and reflective surfaces add to the sense of calm. Despite periods of damage and restoration, the garden has retained its unique character and remains one of Wrocław’s most beloved attractions. It is a place for slow walks, quiet contemplation, and appreciating the delicate balance between nature and design.

The Japanese Garden (Ogród Japoński) is located within Szczytnicki Park in Wrocław at ul. Adama Mickiewicza 1, right next to the Centennial Hall and the Pergola with the Wrocław Multimedia Fountain. Nearby you will find the Centennial Hall and the Wrocław Multimedia Fountain at the Pergola, the Wrocław Zoo and Africarium, the Four Domes Pavilion with the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the riverside promenades along the Odra, all within a short walk from the garden’s main entrance.
