Slottsskogsobservatoriet is located on a hill at the northern end of Slottsskogen Park in central Gothenburg, within easy walking distance of the city centre and the surrounding residential streets. The observatory sits inside the large Slottsskogen green area, close to the park’s zoo, the Natural History Museum, and the Lejontrappan staircase down towards the city. Nearby you will find Slottsskogen’s walking and cycling paths, playgrounds, cafés along Linnégatan, and the Gothenburg Botanical Garden, making it simple to combine a visit to the observatory with a stroll through the park or a longer outing in the western part of central Gothenburg.
