Kungsparken, known as the King's Park, is situated in central Gothenburg at Parkgatan 13 (411 38), behind Stora Teatern theatre. This 13-hectare green space from the 19th century encloses much of Nya Allén walkway and borders the canal, reachable by a 10-minute walk south from Kungsportsavenyen or Götaplatsen. Stora Teatern offers cultural performances right at the park's edge, while Trädgårdsföreningen park lies adjacent across the canal with its Palm House and gardens. Close by are the vibrant Avenyn boulevard, Gothenburg Opera, and Kungsportsplatsen square for shopping and dining.
