Albertina Modern is Vienna’s premier museum for modern and contemporary art, located in the historic Künstlerhaus on Karlsplatz. Opened in 2020 as a branch of the renowned Albertina Museum, it offers over 2,500 square metres of exhibition space dedicated to post-1945 Austrian and international art. The museum’s core is the Essl Collection, one of Austria’s most significant holdings of contemporary works, featuring artists such as Maria Lassnig, Hermann Nitsch, and Valie Export. International icons like Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, and Roy Lichtenstein also feature prominently. With rotating exhibitions and a focus on current artistic discourse, Albertina Modern is a vital cultural destination in the heart of Vienna.

Albertina Modern is located at Karlsplatz 5, 1010 Vienna, housed within the historic Künstlerhaus building at the edge of Vienna's old town. The building, dating back to the 1860s, has been renovated to provide a dedicated space for modern and contemporary art exhibitions. It hosts an impressive collection of around 65,000 works by some 5,000 artists, including renowned Austrians like Arnulf Rainer and Maria Lassnig alongside international figures such as Damien Hirst and Andy Warhol. Nearby, visitors can find the famous Musikverein concert hall, celebrated for its world-class classical music performances.
